Glen Lakes Spring Nationals

An elligable racer must be 18, or will be 18 any time during the 2011 year, or older.
Preregistration deadline to keep last years number is April 1 2011.

Registration fee: Package of hot dogs and buns.
Schedule: April 30, 2011
Registration and Tech: 4:00-5:00pm
Hot dogs/French fries: 4:00-5:00pm
Judging:  5-5:15pm
People's Choice: up to 5:30
Opening ceremony/ Racing starts: 5:15
Award ceremony to follow


Classes and rules:
If there are any questions about your car or the rules PLEASE ASK!!!!!
Stock:


1. The car weight shall not exceed 5.5 oz. (156 grams). The official race scale shall be considered final.
2. The overall length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
3. The overall width of the car shall not exceed 3-1/2", car height not to exceed 4 inches.
4. The car must have 1-3/4"clearance between the wheels.
5. The car must have 3/8” clearance underneath the body.
6. The car must be constructed from wood(all types are acceptable). The block may be shaped any way that is desired. You may also add additional wood if necessary(Double Decker buses).
7. The wheels supplied with the kit (BSA style) must be used. The wheels may not be cut, drilled, beveled or rounded.
8. The axles supplied with the kit must be used. They may be polished, machined and lubricated.
9. Wheel bearings, washers or bushings are prohibited.
10. The car must not ride on any type of springs.
11. The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices.
12. No loose material of any kind may be used.
13. Car must have a number. (see additional rules below) 


Pro-Stock:


1. The car weight shall not exceed 16 oz (454 grams).
2. The overall length of the car is unlimited.
3. The overall width of the car shall not exceed 3-1/2",  and car height not to exceed 6 inches when crossing the finish line.
4. The car must have 1-3/4" clearance between the wheels.
5. The car must have 3/8”clearance underneath the body. 
6. The car body may be constructed of any material known to man, metal or non-metal etc…, body is unlimited
7. The wheels may be constructed of any material known to man, metal or non-metal etc…, number of wheels are unlimited.
8. The axles may be constructed of any material known to man, metal or non-metal etc…, the axles may be polished, machined and lubricated.
9. Wheel bearings, washers or bushings are allowed.
10. The car does not have to be freewheeling, but cannot have a starting device 
11. Chemical reactions or reactions resulting in combustion are prohibited.
12. Electric motors, batteries, compressed air or CO2 are prohibited.
13. Car must have a number. (see additional rules below)


Top Fuel:


 1. The car shall not exceed 32 oz. (907 grams).
 2. The overall length of the car is unlimited.
 3. The overall width of the car shall not exceed 3-1/2",  and car height not to exceed 6 inches when crossing the finish line.
 4. The height of the car shall not exceed 6 inches when crossing the finish line.
5. The car must have 1-3/4" clearance between the wheels.
6. The car must have 3/8" clearance underneath the body.
7. The car, axles, and wheels may be constructed of any material known to man, metal or non-metal.
8. The car does not have to be free wheeling, and can have a starting device.
9. Chemical reactions or reactions resulting in combustion are prohibited.
12. Electric motors, batteries, compressed air, and CO2 are allowed but may not be remote controlled.
13. Car must have a number. (see additional rules below)

This racing event will be held at Glen Lakes Raceway in the LDS Glendale Stake Center, cultural hall, anyone caught using vulgar language or fighting will be disqualified and asked to leave the event NO EXCEPTIONS!


Racers must register their car and pass tech inspection before the race begins, cars must have a number, one on the top, or one on each side of the car, 1-665 per class, early number registration is recommended and will be on a first come first serve bases (email or phone). Racers from the previous year have the opportunity to keep there number if he or she is preregistered. Preregistration deadline to keep last years number is April 1 2011.



Once a car has failed to pass tech-inspected, further work may be done until the desired class he or she wants to enter is reached. A place should be designated to lubricate and work on cars during or after they are registered and inspected.


If, during a race, a car leaves the track without interfering with its opponent, it shall be considered to have ended its heat at that point.


If a car leaves its lane, at its sole discretion, the track chairman may inspect the track and, if a track fault is found which probably caused the initial violation; the track chairman may order the race to be rerun after the track is repaired.


During the event if contact is made to a car by another racer or spectator without permission of the registered owner the racer may be disqualified and spectator may be asked to leave the event depending on the circumstances or any damages.


If, during a race, no car reaches the finish line on the track, the car which went the farthest in its lane shall be declared as the heat winner.


If, during a race, a car leaves its lane and, in so doing, interferes with another racer, then the car at fault shall be declared to have lost the race heat.


*Only one car per class may be registered by any person in the race. One racer may enter a car for each of the three class, three cars maximum per racer.


Any lubricants such as graphite or powdered Teflon "white lube" will be allowed for lubricating the wheels; however lubricants may not foul the track.


Lubrication is allowed before the beginning of each race. 


Details such as the steering wheel, driver, decals, painting, and interior detail are permissible as long as these details do not exceed the maximum length, width, and weight specifications and are not offensive.
